About Me
Hi! I'm Amelia and I'm a qualified journalist and freelance lifestyle writer from Hull.

I graduated from the University of Leeds in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Music.

It was here that I worked as a contributing news writer and section editor for the University newspaper- The Gryphon, winning awards for my stories and investigative pieces.
I then undertook my Level 5 Diploma in Journalism with the National Council for the Training of Journalists, self-taught.

As a journalist I have worked as a news writer, reporter and section editor for three different local newspapers, and worked as a contributing blog writer for Empoword Journalism- an online, female-led publication.

In this role I wrote a variety of lifestyle blog posts, ranging from fashion to food to wellness, and also worked as the news section editor.

My time as a news reporter for the Goole Times saw me write hundreds of news stories, local and wider, attend press events and conduct interviews as a writer.

More recently I worked in the marketing department of a major UK company- Wren Kitchens, as their Communication Executive, writing press releases, blog posts, product launches and more.

Now I am a fully freelance lifestyle writer, offering a variety of writing services that take the pressure off lifestyle brands andbusiness owners and give them back time to work on other things.

When I'm not writing, I can be found taking care of animals as a pet sitter, or trying to get my own cat to behave!
