I was very optimistic when I set my 100 book challenge on Good Reads back in January this year, but I have to admit that we are now only 4 months away from the end of the year (sorry!) and I am only on book 40, so perhaps 100 was a bit high a goal.
Regardless, I have read 40 books this year most of which I have thoroughly loved and enjoyed, and a couple that were misses too. Here are just a few of those that I highly recommend:
Good Material, Dolly Alderton

Good Material is the first book I have read by Dolly Alderton, and I absolutely adored it. It is funny, real, heartbreaking, sentimental and I found it hit home at the same time too. 5 stars!
The Life Impossible, Matt Haig
I am a long standing Matt Haig fan, and have read many of his other books. The Life Impossible was absolutely not what I expected, but in all the best ways. The story is gripping, magical, full of mystery and incredible heartwarming. Another 5 star rating from me.

Julia/1984
If you have ever read George Orwell's 1984, you will be familiar with the world and plot of Julia. I wouldn't say you have to read 1984 before, however, but it definitely would help with understanding the characters and backstory. It takes us through Orwell's world from the female perspective, and is a quirky and interesting read.
